I don't see a 'For Sale' area in the forum, so maybe a moderator will move this to where it should be. Apologies in advance. :)

I have a good, used Western Digital Caviar 2700 730.8MB HDD that I hate to just throw away. Anyone got a use for it? It tested fine in December '04 when I put it in storage. It was formatted using W98 and left blank otherwise. 1416cyl,16heads,63spt. A mere 11 years old with no problems to report.

Is it worth $5 shipped within the US48 to anyone?

There is no "For Sale" areas on these forums, but I can suggest a listing on Craigslist, EBay, or donating it to a non-profit.

Well of course I could put it to *some* sort of use, haha... and I'd even pay for packing! =P

But I would certainly recommend eBay or Craigslist, like Prnt said =)

I agree. You could get a lot more money for an ancient working hard drive than just $5. For anyone still nursing along an old DOS or pre-Pentium system, any 2GB or smaller hard drive that's still in working order would be worth its weight in... something really valuable! :D

or you could try to keep it for a longer time...

then maybe you could sell it to an Antique Tech Museum of some sort for more than a $100
