I have a Jetway motherboard V.720AF/AN/AH/A01 which incorporates a SiS 620/5595 chipset. The motherboard is 66/100 Mhz selectable.

Can I upgrade to the top of the Celeron FCPGA CPU series? If not, what are the limiting factors other than the chipset? Jetway's documentation has been made obsolete by the rapid advance in CPU speeds.

Thanks Guys & Gals

If the mobo allows you to set the jumpers that high, then you should be ok...you'll have to check and see if it has jumpers or autodetects the cpu speed and voltage...

You may need a bios update to select a speed that high...you should be able to check in the bios setup or in the mobo manual to find out what settings it supports either way...

The FCPGA chips run on a different voltage than the older socket 370 platforms. Damage can result if this situation is left to its own devices. Definitely look at motherboards.org and try to find out if a bios flash is needed and can be performed beforehand.
