Dear all,
Can pls advise for what reason the BIOS can hang? Refer to my problem on the other post, I have tried to re-configure/reset my bios by putting the on board jumper out. After that I replace the jumper at configuration position, I then can boot into bios, but it hang after a few ~5-10 seconds.
What is going wrong? OM: Intel 865 GBF.
Thanks!!

I would refer back to your first thread and what ski said. You need to swap out parts or do a bare bones boot to try and figure out which hardware component is causing the problems. It must be hardware related if the BIOS is hanging because no software is loaded at that point. ;) Whether it is a device or the mobo itself.

thanx...will try it when I get back next week only....anyway, anyway to test whether the damage/failure is from the mobo?
Special equipment is required to test a MB, and that's available only at repair shops. The only other option is to swap the MB with another known working one.

Or to test all the other parts in another know good mobo. Find out what is defective by process of elimination. Which a bare bones boot will accomplish as well. Perhaps even take the mobo out of the case to eliminate the possibility of the mobo is shorting out on the case somewhere.
From reading your other threads I am leaning towards a bad mobo, but it could simply be a bad device causing the BIOS to hang.
First thing I would normally suggest with a problem like this is to replace the CMOS battery, but you have already done that so that's not it.

Yeah! my pc finally work...
I m not sure which step solve the problem, what I did is un plug everything from the mobo, take the mobo out from the case and install it back one by one. Then I start my comp, it loaded into bios with no hang!??
But what I confirmed is my 1 year old sata HDD is bad...:(, it has sound like click click click....when i plug the power cable on.
Anyway, I m running well with my old 8GB HDD :p

Great! Bummer about the HDD but you figured it out. The drive must have been causing the BIOS to hang.

I guess is not becos of HDD in the beginning that cause my monitor empty or bios hand becos i tried to load the system with just keyboard attached and did't work.
The step i did not take at that time was taking the mobo out from the case and unplug the cpu fan and plug it back again.
Guess is something wrong with the mobo (may be too tide screwing?) or CPU loosing (or fan loosing?)
