Hi Guys,
I just installed a 3com wireless router (OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Cable/DSL Router Version 2.01.10). I have one wired computer working fine, and one laptop trying to connect with the wireless card.

I have 2 main issues:

1. The network is working fine as long as there is no encryption configured, but the range is really small - from my room donwstairs about 15-20 meters awa I get no signal. Is this normal??

2. when I try to enabnle encryption (either WPA or WEP) my laptop starts acting funy.. When trying to connect I get stuck on the acquiring network address step - even though the router logs show that my MAC address has connected with the device. On ipconfig I get no address so it would seem that there is a problem with the DHCP indeed. I don't know if this is a problem of the NIC or if i configured something wrong.

Please help, I am way beyond the point of breaking open the wiskey bottle!! :)
Thanks,
Little
