I'm pretty sure that machine has onboard graphics capabilities...if so make sure you are connecting to it.

Pull the CMOS battery.

Find and install at least 64 MB of PC100 RAM. (The smaller size PC100 sticks are compatable with just about anything and it sound like the RAM you bought isn't).

thxs man i see if resetignt he cmos works.

the 1-3-1-3 beep seems to be keyboard controller, is that a motherboard problem or a keyboard problem?

With HPs, the actual BIOS codes may or may not match with those for a retail board with the same BIOS version, but the keyboard controller is a motherboard problem and if that is the real problem and not BIOS problem (you may want to just go ahead and replace the battery) then I guess stripping out anything useful and tossing the motherboard would be about the only way to go...

Also, check for bulging capacitors, as per this (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=25482) thread.

Bulging or damaged capacitors have been known to affect the keyboard controller (as I have seen first hand). It also wouldn't hurt to replace the CMOS battery with a CR2032 Button cell batter (Available at your friendly neighbourhood hardware store... usually)
