I am running Windows XP SP2 on my PC. Anytime I reboot my machine, my numeric keypad comes up with its function keys (arrows, pgup, pgdn, etc.) as active and won't let me use the keypad for the numbers and mathematics until I hold down the Num Lock key for 5 seconds and hit Cancel when the Toggle Keys prompt comes up. I've set the Toggle Keys to be off and even on in frustration so that when I turn my machine on it would just allow my numbers to be on. Can't get it to work. I've looked through the Microsoft site to find no help on fixing this.

I'm not sure what caused this to happen. I've tried multiple keyboards and it worked before just fine with this same build of XP. I must have hit something along the way and not noticed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Give your BIOS a quick check...some have Numlock status.

I know that I had tried this before, but when I was double checking my setting in XP, I noticed that the Mouse Keys were set to On. I turned them off and now it works fine. I know that I did this before. Must not have saved it. Thanks for the help.
