With Memorial Day weekend here in the US, many are going to be doing some extra driving. Here is a site that may enable you to shop more effectively for lower priced fuel:
http://autos.msn.com/everyday/GasStations.aspx?m=1&l=1&zip=94534&x=0&y=0
Just put in your local zip code.

Kind of cool, but how acurate is it?
With the prices these days, you see one price and by the time you get to the gas station it already went up.

Yeah, their updating is a bit slow. The posting dates for my zip are two days old, although they say reports come in daily. The "bounce" around here is easily .20 to .25 cents at a time...

The pricing sample date is shown in each station information. Yes, there is a delay of a day or so due to the way automatic gas card postings are used to track prices.
I know our prices are different than the UK or EU because the US does not tax the same as the Euro countries, or even Canada.
As to Hummers, they announced they are going to discontinue production of the big one for consumer use.

Tell me about it!!..
Same with smokers.. (Trying to give up at the moment)..
Tobacco in the shop = £10.30 for 50 grammes.
Black market stuff SELLS for £4.50 for the exact same product..the rest is tax!!
And that is from just from accross the channel in France..

The EU prices are about 50-60% (if not more) cheaper than UK prices.
Convert FREDS prices for baccy here and it comes to just over $19.00
You can buy a 50g pack of tobacco (hand rolling) for about £3.00 in the shops in the EU ($5.50)

In the US, the tax is $0.50 to $0.80 per gallon.
In the EU it is 50-60%.
Fred,
Good luck on quitting.
:)
Edit: I stand corrected on tax, Ernie knows.

I am one year older than you but had smoked as a teen, and quit at 21. An amazingly difficult thing to do.
