Anyone know whats causing this, drivers upto date and it happens after a couple of minutes of playing Hl2 and Fear, doesn't happen in desktop

Reseat the video card making sure it's fully seated, it's cooling fan is running at the correct speed, its heatsink is securely mounted, its fan and heatsink are dust free(Note: If the heatsink has enclosed cooling fins, then make sure to clean them thoroughly. A small pipe cleaner works well.), and all case fans are running and dust free.
If no luck, then remove the computer's cover, and run an external fan. If that works, then the system needs either more powerful or additional case fans.
If the problem still happens with an external fan, then swap it out with another card. If that works, then your video card may be defective.

Also if you happen to have the video card over clocked reduce the speed until you no longer have this problem.

Turns out it was a defective card, ebuyer were very good and made a full refund. they only had it back one day.
