Beware a remanufactured Gateway computer can only be returned within FIVE days after receipt. That means you must find a defect within FIVE days. Also, Gateway 'seems' to solve problems by re-loading the Operating System
instead of troubleshooting the system.

yes, the only difference between Compaq and Gateway, is that Gateway will stand there and Bullsh*t you in person. I stopped in out of curiosity one day just to see what they offered, and how much they were charging for their systems. I overheard a salesman tell a couple that they had to get a 1GHZ or higher and at least a 60 GB hard drive in order to successfully surf the internet. I decided it was time to leave before i hurt someone; besides-i wasn't wearing my boots! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Interesting what companies will say and do when they are missing the Revenue and Profit numbers isn't it http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

That's funny, all the websites I see on my P2 266 laptop w/ a 4gb hard drive must be hallucinations, but they look awfully similar to the ones I see on my 1ghz desktop w/70gb hard drive space...oh well, guess I should go to the doctor...

Wow...I must be really in bad shape then, I have the same hallucinations, but I'm running a P-233MMX and 2.8GB drive...not only that, the webpages look only slightly different than the ones I see on my P-60 Packard Bell running win 3.11 on a 420MB drive...And that's only because it's running IE 3.01 instead of IE 5. Either I'm doing really good drugs or that salesman is. And I'm pretty sure I'm straight...guess I need to start checking the tea pitcher a bit closer...

Anyone pulling that kind of garbage on unsuspecting customers should be taken out behind the barn...then fired. I think instead of leaving I would have had a long discussion with the store manager. No, the customer first, then the store manager...and just let the salesman try to stop me...most salesmen barely know how to turn a computer on, no way they can keep up with people like the ones who have no lives...I mean hang out here... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

i still get a kick out of the day i overheard a sales"boy" at BestBuy tell a couple that their new computer was the best on the market with 40gb's of memory and 128mb's of storagespace! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
i started laughing so hard i nearly hurt myself! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I spoke to the couple after that to give them a brief re-explanation, turns out the wife was a little more knowledgable than the sales "boy" gave her credit for. She said she didn't think that was right, they decided not to by the computer, can't really blame them-not with those specifications!! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
