Secret shortcuts mode

Hi everyone. I have a very irritating problem which occasionally arrises with my pc. I somehow activate a shortcut mode where E for example opens an explorer window and L i think logs me off and some other keys activate various things. The annoying this about this mode is that when im typing I end up setting off lots of unwanted events. I have no idea how i get into this mode and no idea how to get out of it so i end up just having to reset my pc. I would really appreciate a sollution to this as im finding it infuriating when it happens.

This sounds like it is caused by hitting the Control or Alt keys.
More likely to be HotKeys, not secret shortcuts.

Believe it or not, computer users used to navigate with just a keyboard, no mouse.

E and L work that way in conjunction with the "Flying Windows" key - so could the latter be stuck?

I think your right paul, my windows key must be getting stuck occasionally next time it happens ill try bashing it to see what happens.
