Hi people!
I would like to find an appropriate motherboard for Celeron III 600MHz. I've purchased recently PCChips MB PC133 socket 370 with SIS630/730 chipset and it is working but on SiSoft Sandra test performs miserable. Compared with any other system in 450-600MHz range it has about 1/3 of the caracteristics of others. Which MB will be best for this CPU?

Tha SIS 630/730 Chipset is your main bottleneck on that Mboard. The celery has a lack of onboard cache memory. But hey---unless you are into power gaming or systems that require a ton of resources go with what you have! One of the best systems I've seen for us everyday folks was was an Abit flip-chip board (with the Soft Menu) and a Celery like yours. It has the VIA chipset/133Mhz fsb. Need to go to Abit website and browse. Be Back.

Hey ranch, while it may have been true that the first Celerons had no cache the newer ones do: L1 16k, L2 128K...a little whimpy but there.

There are probably several BIOS settings that could be "tweaked" to improve your performance with your current board...check outthis (http://www.pcguide.com/opt/index-c.html) and this (http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/bios/index-c.html).
