I just installed a joyfully cluttered-looking combo panel from AeroCool called the Cool Panel-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820401501

All has gone reasonably well except that while the card reader portion has added 4 drive letters to my system, insertion of my SD card yields no change. All four 'drives' respond 'insert media' when I attempt to explore the SD card.

No drivers came with the unit and useless Japanese-to-jibberish directions. I don't actually 'need' the card reader, but for giggles and the rare ocassion that I'm loaned a card (and because I did pay for the thing), I'd like to know it's functioning.

Thanks in advance,

John

Any Windows version after Me shouldn't need additional drivers for the card reader...so what version of Windows are you running?

The driver is a .rar, so make sure you have an extractor that can handle rar.

I'm running XP Home.

I have a Zonet 4+1 USB PCI card (4 ext ports, 1 internal) and had nothing connected to the back of it when I connected the card reader to the internal connection. That gave mew four 'drives' that seem inaccessible. Now that I've connected two USB items to the ext ports, the extra drive letters are gone. Inserting the SD card still produces nothing. Grr...
