Hi, I'm a newbie here :) I hope u guys can help me out.

i would like to find out why the Thumb Drive is not automatically detected and show in [my computer] when i plugged into the usb port.

The Thumb Drive itself is working fine and able to detect at another pc.

Is there any settings that i need to configure so that the thumb drive can detect automatically when i plug into the usb port.

Remarks : I've tried changing the drive letter under Disk Management but sometimes it just doesn't work.

Regards,
Kris

Hi there Kris and welcome to the forums.

First could you post a wee bit about your PC & OS as this will help in solving your problem.

If you have a Win98 installed then you will have to install drivers for the thumb drive as Win98 does not support them by default.

Do you have other USB devices working on your PC at the moment?

Go to DEVICE MANAGER and check to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks or red crosses.

If so try right clicking them and select REMOVE and then go into Control Panel and select add new Hardware. Allow this wizard to do its job by selecting all the choices for searching. (I would also reccomend that you have the\any installation CD that came with the drive inserted into your CD drive) Make certain that the pen drive is attached to your PC.

If no success try using another USB port on your PC to see if this resolves the problem. If using a hub try a direct connection to PC
