Opening a hyperlink from emails.

I run XP with mozilla Firefox as a bowser, When I open outlook express and then try and open a hyperlink on the email I have a lot of problems getting the bowser to open. Some times it helps if a I open the firefox first then open emails but some times this doesn't. Some times it takes several minutes some times all I get is a blank page. Then another time it opens up no probs.
Firefox is set as the default bowser.

Uninstall Firefox, and install the latest version.

I've installed the latest updates for Firefox.

Try the same with OE.
If still no good, then update your AV program, and do a virus search. Also, run Ad-aware and Spybot to remove any spyware.
If that does not help, then troubleshoot it with a clean boot:
