Running windows XP Home Edition with SP2.
When I tried to start Print Shop 6, I got error Number 5: Acess denied. There was a note saying that the error occurred while trying to verify the maximum number of users allowed by the program. This looks to me like an XP/Registry problem rather than a problem with the Print Shop program.
BTW: I am the only user of this system and I think I have Administrator privileges or could activate them. At least I do not remember ever being treated like a peon user.
I have not used this program for 6 or more months, but it was working the last time I tried it.
The problem might be due to a registry cleaner program I just used. That utility reported about 1000 registry problems, which it claimed to have fixed.
Since I have about 100 programs/applications installed on this system, the registry was probably a mess. Also, the system has been in use for about 18 months.
I did some searches but turned up nothing which seemed pertinent.
If nobody has any good ideas, I will try uninstalling and reinstalling Print Shop.
If I have some more problems, I will fall back to a Drive Image and just restore my system to what it was a week or so ago. That would be prior to installing Fix-it Utilities 6 and running the registry cleaner.
