Anyone who has been frequenting the "Buying and Upgrading Advice" section of the forums has most likely seen the carnage that has been waged for half a month now within the seemingly harmless post by jaydee1445 entitled Radeon 7500 vs GeForce4 MX440! What started as a simple question between two specific graphics cards (which would seem simple enough) has sparked quite the debate about whether to use PC's or Consoles for gaming purposes.

hiredgoonz and iisbob both have good points and in the end it's a matter of opinion. But a couple of points got me thinking...

hiredgoonz says "I guess I just never found a PC game that really appealed to me". Now that's a valid point because consoles have traditionally used gamepads and thus are home to many more fast-paced action games. A mouse and a keyboard aren't exactly DOA3 material.

iisbob says "consoles are junior PC's that have come full circle back to their starting point; a PC". Also a valid point since consoles are undeniably a type of computer, and Microsoft's XBox entry certainly has the phrase 'almost a PC' stamped all over it in glowing neon ink.

So if there is a divide in game types between PC's and Consoles, and if Consoles are indeed coming back around to being more like PC's, and if the PC/Console become the hub of home entertainment as Intel/Sony would have us believe, does that mean that PC's and Consoles will someday be one in the same? Will the great gaming divide someday be breached? Are there actually mutant gamers out there that play on both PC's and Consoles?

PS - I believe jaydee1445's question actually got answered!
