hi there: :) :)

I have a desktop and laptop both are XP sp2. I tried to connect them wirelessly through a TP-Link USB adapter (TL-WN620G) connected to my desktop. For my laptop it came with an adapter inside. So they can see each other. The signal is excellent. Internet sharing in my desktop is enabled. In the desktop-(my netwok places)-there are two icons. One for the desktop and the other for the laptop!

I made "ping" and they replied for each other smoothly..

Still cannot see the files of each through each other and cannot share the browsing of internet.. What do you think is the problem??

Anyone has an idea would be greatly appreciated.. :)

Did you set the files to share them?
Did you give the other user permissions to access those files?
Are these both XP Pro, XP Home or what?
Do you have a router?
Did you set up Internet Connection Sharing if no router?

thanx :) for replying and:

Did you set the files to share them? YES

Did you give the other user permissions to access those files? YES

Are these both XP Pro, XP Home or what? Both are XP Professional and SP2.

Do you have a router? NO,I just have a TP-Link wireless adapter(TL-WN620G).

Did you set up Internet Connection Sharing if no router? I guess YES! I checked the box of ("Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection").

hope I answered your Qs.

Note: I noticed that with my laptop I can see and deal with shard folders of the desktop.. but the desktop is blind it cannot see the files of the laptop at all and it gives me a message that says:

("Windows cannot find \\laptop1. Check the spelling and try again, or try searching for the item by clicking the start button and then click search").

thanx againPrntRhd...
