View Full Version : Bootlocker, how do I get it off when password doesn't work, before I kill the kid?
Hi,
I need help! My son installed bootlocker and the first time it loaded, it would not take his password. Is there a way to remove the trial program?
Thank you.
Here (http://www.bootlocker.com/) is their website...pretty sparse info...
This is from the page about bootlocker...

There is no back door or easy hack around BootLocker. If you do get locked out, the best way to bypass it is to use an external boot device, such as a CD-ROM or floppy disk. Almost any competent computer technician can do this, with any security program - not just BootLocker.
So, you need a boot disk...does the machine in question have a floppy drive? Can you get into the BIOS to set the machine to boot from something other than the hard drive?
If so, create a bootdisk or get one from bootdisk.com. If not, then you'll need a bootable CD...usually the OS install disk will work.
Then, you should be able to get in and uninstall the program.
And if you are on XP pro...change the permissions on you son's account to disallow installing software.
Also, have you tried hitting the capslock key before entering the password?
It let us in under safe mode and it's all gone now. Thank you.
