Multi-line modems

I would like to find a modem card that will handle 2-lines. This would
allow me to have a real nifty answering machine. All i can find, though,
is multi-line cards often costing well over a thousand bucks! ! Modems
are cheap and I can't understand this. Does anyone know of a voice
modem card that handles more than 1 line and still doesn't require a
second mortgage??
