I have a serial mouse I want to upgrade.
But I don't have a ps/2 plug in on my comp.
I tried a USB wireless mouse and it locked up my comp after abpuot 10 min.
Can i get a serial mouse with a scroll feature or an adapter?
Do i have to add a ps/2 plug?
I have a pentium II with one serial port and two USB ports.

Welcome hillbilly http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
I believe there are adapters available but one less connection is a better way to go. Are you running Windows 95b or later? Why not just use a USB mouse?
Edit: OK, I see where the USB may have caused the lockup..that could something simple though...if you want to pursue that problem post some of your pc specs (OS/CPU/RAM/Mobo etc.) http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Serial mice with scroll are available, and with adapters. Logitech is my favorite. Make sure the mouse has a switch underneath to set it for serial or PS/2.

My PS/2 Logitech "Marble" trackballs work fine on the serial adapter- no hardware switch is involved. For good response, set the serial port to the fastest speed.
