Hi,When it comes to finding pin 1 on an HD, CDROM or a Floppy drive is there an easy way to find out which way the data cable faces? I appreciate any help.

also, I cant seem to fit my complete window on the desktop. I see a portion of the "x" and right side scroll bar. I want to fit the complete window in place. How do I do it please?

TIA

You should find a Diagram on the drive.

In many cases the connector end near the power connector is pin 1 On floppy

Almost all modern IDE devices are 'keyed' so that the connector fits on one way...but it is basically the same as for floppies.

That sounds like a resolution/refresh rate problem, check your video card/monitor settings.

If you're using an LCD monitor, there should be an "AUTO" button or function somewhere. This will force the LCD monitor to detect the edges of the image being sent to it and adjust the pixels accordingly.

If you're using a CRT monitor, you'll have to use the buttons and/or OSD (on-screen display) to adjust the horizontal position of the image. You can also adjust anything else, like the vertical position and horizontal & vertical size.

Either way, refer to your monitor's manual for specific details on how to perform these tasks.
