Hi, I have a component of my printer which I need for it to operate. My problem is that there is an icon in my system tray that wants to "Safely remove hardware" from my machine. How can I get rid of the message so it will stop appearing in the sys tray please?
TIA

Install this free Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml), run it, find the item in one of the tabs, and untick it so it won't run at Startup and therefore won't show in the System Tray.
Do you have a USB Mass Storage Device attached? Possibly a card reader?
That "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is so you can unmount and then remove your USB storage devices. IF you don't use it before you disconnect the device you risk corrupting/erasing your data on the device...be it music, pictures, what have you...
Basically, if you use any USB devices, leave it alone. It is very much like the volume control...if you take out your sound card the Volume control will disappear...if you disconnect all USB storage devices...that icon will disappear.
