I have a home network at my Internet gateway is very un-reliable but it is fine if I reboot it every day. This is a major pain as it is far away. If it has a program that would reboot the system, I could put it in the task scheduler (Win 98 SE) and all would be fine. It would just reboot at 6:00 am.

You can install one of the shutdown programs available on the web.
Just add the reboot switch to the command line.

Depending on the version of windows you are using you may even be able to use the Microsoft shutdown program and the appropriate command line switch .

I prefer the Freeware version of shutdown from the site listed below.

iisbob had what I wanted but I ran into trouble on step 7 of the instructions so I went with Rick's suggestion.
Thanks to both.

I think that I spoke too soon. Rick's program didn't do it. I need to reboot the system, not shut it down all together. I should have put two and two together when I saw that Ricks program was called "Shutdown".
I went back and looked at the instructions iisbob sent me. It looks like I missed step 4. I don't know how. Once I used that one, it all came together. That's the one I ended up using.

use
4 = Shuts down the system and then restarts the system

"shutdow /4"

and if needed use /Force

FORCE = Forces processes to terminate. Instead of bringing up the "application not responding" dialog box for the user, this value forces an application to terminate if it does not respond.

OPS didn't get your last Line.

You got it to work using the first link. cool http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
