So far I have d/l this to my hard drive and then to a floppy. Can someone please tell me how to use this after that? Do I just stick the floppy in a bootup and then the floppy does the rest?

TIA

What, precisely are you wanting to do??

Edit:
This appears to be an utility about : How to Manually Remove Windows NT or Windows 2000??

If this is what you are attempting, then the link above shows how.. or this one from MS:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q103049

gives more info.. ;)

tks for that...I quess I am looking for the wrong thing.

What I am looking for is a program, not delpart, in which I can put floppy in at bootup with some program on it that will allow me to delete what's on the hard drive before the OS, thats on the HD, shows up on my desktop.

Can someone help me out with this please?

TIA

This free KILLDISK (http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm) is really nice.
It loads from a bootable floppy, displays really well the info about the Master HDD and its partitions.
It will zero-fill the drive with a single set of zeros, and you can choose to either write those to the whole drive or any number of chosen partitions.
Needless to say the former contents of the drive are practically impossible to recover once this is done.

Or would you rather just reformat the partitions?
If so you could use Bob Cerelli's Win98SE Startup floppy (http://www.onecomputerguy.com/install/floppies.htm#boot_floppy), which is better than a Microsoft Windows Startup floppy, and easier to make.

Also keep in mind if you are going to install win2K or later you can do all the partition/format work from windows setup if you like.

I don't have a PC i can try it on that is why i ask for this info.If your original intention was to delete everything on the hard drive, why do you need precise instructions? If you use a piece of software with which you are unfamiliar and something goes wrong, what's the worst that can happen!? A totally erased hard drive? :p

The best way I've found to completely erase a hard drive is to use the hard drive manufacturer's utility, which can be downloaded for free on their website. The manufacturer's utility will also do other things, such as test the hard drive for errors and quarantine bad sectors.
