I purchased a Gigabyte GN-BR01G wireless router and the weekend. I had it setup and working lovely within 10 minutes. My cable modem is connected to the WAN port. My main PC is connected to the LAN1 port and I have the xbox wired to the LAN2 port. My second PC has a LAN PCI card. I had it connected to the router and was able to surf the web on it. I was also able to surf the web on the PSP.

Now to the problem. When the main PC is switched off I don't seem to be able to connect to the router wirelessly with either the second PC or the PSP. The PC doesn't get passed "Acquiring IP address" and the PSP times out while acquiring the ip address. Am i wrong in thinking that I should be able to connect to the internet through the router when the main PC is turned off?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

No you're not wrong for assuming that. As long as NAT is enabled, you should be able to connect to the Internet from any computer on your network - all at the same time.

Can you not connect wirelessly from any PC? Have you enabled the wireless function of the router? Is DHCP even turned on?

If so, what is the IP address of the router, and what do you see when you run IPCONFIG /ALL from each PC once connected?

Are you trying to connect wirelessly at the same time you are connected via patch cable?

Need more details here, particularly about how you router is set up and how your general private addressing schema looks on your network.
