Is it ever possible to have too much ram? I am running a sistem with 128 megs of pc 133, i can get a stick now for under 50.00 for 256 megs, is it possible to have too much? or am i better off to just buy another 128 megs??? Windows can handle up to 4GB RAM, I think it is. In the real life scenario though, once you get past about 256MB you won't notice any real difference in performance, unless you're running graphics intensive applications like CAD, video or sound editing. For anything else, 256MB is plenty for about 90% of the averagce home users, even gamers. With gaming once you get to that point the video card makes more difference than RAM does.

If you want to get 256MB go for it, but I'd save the few extra bucks and get another 128MB, and treat myself to dinner...OK, OK...in truth I'd get 256MB and put the 128MB in another machine... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

And for all practical purposes, Win9x can't deal well with amounts over 512MB...you need to make manual configuration changes to do it, when left on it own devices it will not be able to handle it.
