A former UBS Securities system administrator was convicted on two counts of sabatoge and securities fraud for a computer attack in 2002. He was said to be angry over getting a smaller yearly bonus than he was expecting. He resigned his position two weeks before the attack.
He was accused of loading a "logic bomb" on the UNIX network servers which erased large numbers of files. He also was accused of placing $25K in puts on the UBS stock with his personal broker to profit from the disruption and subsequent drop in the stock price.
