Windows Media Player: The Enumerator Is Not Valid

The other day I was trying to play an Xvid with media player and it worked but the sound won't and when I got into the video it said 'the enumerator is not valid'. I've googled this and can't find a solution. I've also tried using GSpot codec appliance and there doesn't seem to be any errors detected in the file. Anyone have the answer?

Have you tried using another player with the file?
