I recommend the Asus A7A. They're a well known and reputable company and this board supports DDR, but it only has 2 dimm slots if memory serves. (Pun intended http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif ). You can get it with onboard sound, or without. It sells for around $170.00. Although I haven't personally built one of these yet, I hear it really screams.

My recommendation would be ECS K7S5A, i've had excellant service from this board-and it's only $60 average, ABIT KG7 is another excellant board ( and it comes in RAID configuration ).
Unless you are experianced with building/supporting PC's , i recommend you stay way from ASUS boards-they are excellant high performance boards, but they are also very temperamental, they require a lot of tweaking to maintain.

I have had good experiences with both ASUS and Abit boards. Two good resources for motherboard reviews are www.anandtech.com (http://www.anandtech.com) and www.tomshardware.com. (http://www.tomshardware.com.) I have used several of their recommended boards with great success.
Good luck,
