Hey guys,

I'm looking at buy an AMD Athlon 1ghz cpu. I was a little confused when looikng at two types: Athlon 1Ghz@200mhz & Athlon 1Ghz@266mhz. What's the big difference between these two? I'm also getting the ASUS A7V133 266mhz FSB mobo. Which cpu will work better with the mobo I'm planning to get?

To answer your question: The only difference between the two CPU's is the Front Side Bus speed that is used on the Mboard to cause them to function. And the default multiplier for each chip. The end result is the same for both = 1Ghz.

IMHO with the A7V133 the way to go is with the 1Ghz@266 CPU. That way PC133 SDRAM can be used to the full benefit. As the FSB setting on the Mboard will be 133Mhz. This is doubled when it reaches the CPU and becomes 266Mhz.

Luck.
