my computer was running fine, but p-4 2.4 processor was to slow, so i replaced with a 3.2, now i get no signal to keyboard or monitor. My dvd drives are running back and forth, and lights are flashing on and off. I reset bios, tried removing ram and reinstalling, nothing. So i put my 2.4 processor back in and it does the same as the 3.2. Is there something im missing? I read the manual on my asus motherboard and the processor is installed correctly. im using artic silver t-paste with heatsink.

2.4 to a 3.2 seems like a pretty big jump. Are you certain your mobo is compatable with the 3.2? Give us the make and model of both mobo and CPU and we can help better ;)

Try clearing the CMOS, by using the 'clear CMOS' jumper or pullling the battery (or both)...if you pull the battery, unplug the machine, hit the power switch a couple of times, then go grab a cup of coffee...after about ten minutes put it back together.
