I have a Compaq Presario 2200 laptop. It has a VGA output for an external monitor. I have connected an external monitor and this worked fine. I have a cable (15 dpin VGA male to component), when I hook this cable up I get nothing on the TV. Is this possibe? Is there a driver I need? HELP ME!!!!

This is certainly possible. First, look for the "Fn" key on your bottom left side of your keyboard on your notebook. Then look at the F keys at the top of the keyboard. One should have a weird box like this: http://online.nwtc.edu/mediaservices/images/fnmonitor.jpg

Or...
Go to control panel, display, settings tab, there should be something to do with the TV there...if not, check the Advanced button in the Setting tab under Display.

I did that with no results. It worked fine with a monitor but with the tv there is nothing.
