View Full Version : Any one knows hot to find WIN XP Product Key on MS-DOS?

I got a damaged Windows XP SP2 but in order to use the repair option I need to know the Product Key and this PC doesnot have it on the case. Any one knows how to find it in MS-DOS Mode? Thank You for your help

You have to use the Product Key that came with your XP disk. It would either be on here: http://www.guarddog.de/Windows%20XP%20gericom%20Recovery%20nur%20CD+Lizen z+Handbuch.jpg

You can find the key on the existing install with Magic Jelly Bean utility:
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
It is not a matter of finding the key in DOS mode, since it is a Registry key value.

The "Registry Tool" on the 1st menu of the "Emergency Boot CD" [EBCD] runs outside of the Windows environment [running Linux I think, with Windows not loaded] and gives various snippets of info including the product key.
But it's only designed for Win98/ME I believe. :(
