I've got 2 pcs networked via crossover cable and I can't get to the network from either side. I used to just drop files into the shard files in My network places and i'd show up on the other pc.

I must of messed something up. It happened when I tried to speed the network up until I found out one card was 10mb/sec. Well, I tried to back track. and then I tried to resetup the network.
Now, my main pc is found under Entire Network but when I click to explore it says not accessible... make sure u have permissions or something such. This is where the problem is.

Not sure if its the administrative services or firewall or what (though I fidgeted with these plenty)

"Contact the administrator." Hey thats me.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif forums.

Well you violated all the rules of playing with your PC. Now the question is how to fix it.

Please post back with full system specs on both PC's and include the OS.

I'm not gung-ho w/ my pc. I do usually fix the probs. But with the network I have no experience and when I set it up I just got it to share files, somehow. That is all I needed.

Pc 1- Windows Xp Pro sp2; 1.60gz sempron; 768ram; 3com Fast etherlink 10/100mb Busmaster pci adapter

Pc 2- Windows XP Pro; P3 448mhz; 384 ram; Intel Pro/100B PCI adapter.

Thanks much
