Ram problem

Tried to install additional ram into my compaq presario 5000 desktop. When I did it would not boot all the way up. It seem to turn on and off. It gave me the option of booting in different modes but even then it would not reboot. Please help me. :confused:

What happens when you remove the new RAM?

What are the specs on the new stuff? The machine in general?

Does the new owrk by itself?
