boot up stops after pci listing

my computer stops booting right after listing of pci devices appear on the monitor. it will not say "updating escd" nor "verifying dmi" ...etc. it just hangs there. anybody can help?

I had a problem a couple of years ago with a pci ethernet card. Well.. the pci slot on the mobo was pooped. I switched slots and it booted normal.

I'm no expert, but tell me the following
What PCI devices do you have installed?
How many of them can you unplug and still boot up the pc and see the screen?

If you can remove all the PCI devices and just plug in monitor, mouse, keyboard, try booting and tell me what happens.
