i just bought a S-ATA western digital 250GB HDD, a 1GB markvision ram memory, a foxconn core series motherboard (P4M800P7MA), 3GHz Pentium D processor
i set up the computer with a 256MB geforce 5700 videocard and also a dvd burner (LG)
at boot up, after all the drives have been recognized, the following message appears "building dmi pool data" and stays there for a while (about 30 secs), then it shows "flash rom protected" or something like that and finally the last message is "verifying dmi pool data" and stays there for another 30 secs and then starts running windows XP pro
i know it's not a big deal but still it's kind of annoying and besides i just bought all this stuff so that it runs faster instead of hanging for about a minute.
also, i tried installing office 2003 with SP1 and when the installation process starts (it doesn't even gets to ask for the software product key), the computer shuts down and reboots itslef and that is also veeery annoying
please... help me...
i don't know what to do
i just visited http://www.plasma-online.de/index.html?content=http%3A//www.plasma-online.de/english/help/solutions/win9x_dmi.html
and tried method 1, i was planning to try method 3 but i don't have a floppy drive...
