Well, you have a PCIe x16 slot, so that's good. But you have a 300W PSU, which will limit your options.

Without upgrading the PSU, you can probably go up to a GeForce 6600 or 7300, maybe a 6600 GT or 7600 GS. Or a Radeon X1300 or X1600 Pro, maybe a Radeon X1600 XT or X800 GTO/GTO2.

If you upgrade the PSU to a better one, you can put whatever new vid card you want in there. The only limit then will be your budget! ;)

480W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103929) of pure power! That should be able to handle anything you throw at it. Good PSU's cost money, but they're worth it. Especially if you're gaming.

What's your budget for all of this, anyway?

$300 for the vid card, eh? Wow, that's some serious gaming power! That will give you access to a 7900 GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150144).

Yes, the PSU will be fine. You'll only need one of those 6-pin PCIe power connectors for the 7900 GT, but having more of them won't hurt.

I have the same exact machine as the poster above. With the exception, that I upgraded my PSU to a 450w. The issue that I'm running into however, is that the PCIe slot is completely unresponsive. I have attempted it with an ATI 1600 pro, as well as a GEForce 7900 card. The latter requiring an additional power connector, with no additional luck.

I have gone through the exercise in completely restoring the machine to original condition. With no success.

Upgraded the Bios, and a Restore. With no success.

I have no idea what to do next. Any help or advice would be extremely helpful here.
