Ok I found a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4000+ Socket AM2 (89W) Retail for $198? It is advertised as having the 1mb L2 catch. Why is newegg still selling them for $389? Or am I missing something?
Also how much of a difference will the larger L2 catch make?

That's cache, not catch.
Newegg sells hardware based on its street value, and they are experts at it! :D They know that enthusiasts will pay big bucks to get twice the L2 cache, as it makes OC'ing that much more potent. And yes, on average, the extra L2 cache does indeed help during intensive number-crunching. So when it comes to pricing, Newegg is more about how much enthusiasts are willing to pay rather than how much the products are supposed to sell for. Supply and demand at its finest. One of the reasons I respect Newegg above all others.
But if you found a 4000+ Windsor for $198 elsewhere, by all means, grab it up!
