Hi pple,
I've some issues here which i suspect is due to certain hardware problems.
1)I begin to notice this "once in a while" "shutdown" of my system suddenly when I was either surfing, gaming,or running other applications.I first got this problem when i try to switch on the pc(previous usage was ok),it sort of like booting into windows xp halfway and then it shutdown, with the power led still on,but monitor is shut in standby(black screen) and gives out a repeated beeping sounds.
So i switched them off, checked all my connections if they r tight, took out and reinsert my ram,and got it to boot up fine again.
However, after 2 days of usage, while i was surfing, the same problem happens with the same beeping sounds.i've also checked my cpu temperature, its running at around 39 to 45 degree celcius and i think it should be ok.
As this is the start of a "soon to come" problem(i hope not),i will like to take preventive measures so im wondering if anyone knows what is the problem and how to solve it?Is it due to loose connections?
2)I've recently installed dual boot winxp and fedora core 5.Initial my winxp and monitor screen was aligned nicely and the screen fills up to the edge where there is no empty black "space".After my fedora installation,i found out that fedora has set my refresh rate to 75hz,and winxp was at 60hz all the while. This time,i also notice there is this thin black border of space surrounding my screen and tat space is "unreachable".(hope u guys know wad i mean).Any idea wad causes this and how to solve it?Is my monitor damaged?
Please advise :)
