Ok, I'm ready to order the Asus M2NPV-VM Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131014
this ram deal just hit, let me know if you think it is worth it:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145566
$94 with free shipping
I decided on a sempron 3000 because it's $60 lol..
some of the reviews on the ram said you have to go into the bios and change something.. but i'm not sure what that means..
Could someone find out if that ram will go into that mobo and run in dual channel with no problem? I'd really appreciate it because I'm at work, so can't browse too long lol
Thanks in advance,
Pavel

holy crap that's $150 at the current exchange rate! Im really considering it, but I don't know much about corsair.
I've been told their valueselect ram is decent, but I don't know how this xms2 or whatever it's called compares.

it really seems like a good deal, have you used corsair before? (i've only used crucial in the past)

Corsair is superb memory.
However - 50/50 split of gamers go for Crucial Ballistix or Corsair. But Corsair is my personal choice - I just bought 2Gb TwinX Xpert DDR2 800 4.4.4.12.2T
COST ME £217 !!!
Cant wait for it to arrive. You cant go wrong with XMS - It's tested and packaged immediately after so you know the dual channel will work properly at the timings advertised - maybe even faster if you tweak a few settings!

Corsiar is on my extremely short list of trustworthy RAM makers. I've always found the ValueSelect stuff quite excellent. Not up to insane OC'ing, but the timings can always be tweaked down to the next level, and it works flawlessly at the stock speed.
The XMS/XMS2 stuff, however, is the stuff of legends! It won't work miracles, but as you can see Corsair got the timings down to a god-like 5-5-5-15 on their DDR2-800! And many people have been tweaking that down to 4-4-4-13 with the right mobo. I'm sure we'll all be laughing at those timings in 2 years, but for now it's probably the best you can get for that price. Most of the other RAM makers don't even have dual-channel DDR2-800 kits, so Corsair and Crucial are once again at the head of the pack.
