Before I get bashed I have built my last 2 computers. One with a AMD1800 and the one now which has a AMD 3500+. I dont want to deal with building my own as it is a pita when somthing goes wrong. Like the one I have now which seems to blue screen or sound cuts off or somthing whenever I move it. I am thinking it is because the flimsy tsunami aluminium case but not 100% positive.

I want a good gaming sys that someone else can deal with if it breaks. I have a monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse. I just need the computer itself. I have been looking at Alienware, Falcon NW, ABS, Cyberpower, Polywell, and Voodoo. What I need to know is if there is a particular one I should purchase from or any I should definatly stay away from?

Im looking to spend 2-3k as I dont seem to be a part upgrader, I just replace the computer as I dislike working on them that much. Parts I am leaning toward are like

2gig ram
AMD 4600+ or higher
150gig HD raptor ( thinking 2 74's)
Nvidia 7950 GX2 (not real sure to do cheaper duels or one high end)

Then just the little stuff left. Some reason Im really drawn to the Fragbox from Falcon NW. I dont upgrade and will have warranties so the close space wont really matter. I also dont OC so that shouldnt really matter.

Any info would be greatly appriciated besides "build your own"

No one really likes it when something goes wrong, so I can understand that part. And if you don't want to build or upgrade anymore, we can all respect that.

I would stay away from Alienware from now on - they just got bought by Dell! Horror of horrors!

ABS, CyberPower, and Polywell are all decent. They make great budget computers and mid-range gaming systems. Very solid choices, but not quite up to par for the more expensive boutique upper-class members like Falcon NW and Voodoo PC.

If I were going to throw $2-3K at a computer (for buying) I would send my money to either Falcon NW or Voodoo PC right now. They've been around far longer and are accustomed to the finer points of PC building. For instance, they're more expensive all around, but things like cable management and printed color documentation are standard for them, not extra add-ons. You'll never spend 5 minutes on their website going through check boxes with them, because it's all included.

That's my opinion.

No, I didn't hear that...tell me it isn't so...first Sysinternals is going to MS and now Alienware is going to Dell...I guess you can say they've gone to Dell in a handbasket...

Digging around and found this shuttle XPC (http://sys.us.shuttle.com/P2_2700.aspx)

About $500 cheaper then Falcon's Fragbox.
