I have a GeForce256 32Mb SDR(The one BEFORE the GeForce2).It works pretty well, but I have the chance of a Jetway ATI Radeon 64 DDR card. Will I notice a difference in performance between the 2 cards,i.e. an increase?.Is the fact that the ATI card is DDR memory a good thing?.Is this DDR stuff all its hyped up to be?.I dont know whether I can justify getting the new card or whether I should stick with the GeForce. What do you guy`s think?.
My system is a PIII 500 Katmei(Slot1),W98se,13Gb H/D.I have 384Mb of Ram.
I hope you can advise me on this soon.

Hi,yes you will notice a good jump in the frames per second, plus with the 64MEG card its more future proof.
Down side ATI driver support is not as good as NVIDIA drivers.
P.S how much are you paying for the ATI card. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well,I WAS going to be paying £57.00 for it on e-Bay auctions. The auction finished today at 14:00.But some lamer put in a last minute bid at 13:58,2 minutes before the auction was due to close!!!!.Twat!!!!.I did not have enough time to get my bid in before the thing shut.So I missed the chance of it there. No matter, there are plenty of other cards for sale on e-Bay.
By the way,I have just looked at a Graphics Card website,AndandTech,I think its called. In their review of the ATI Radeon, they show you different graph-charts with the scores for a bunch of cards going head to head with the Radeon. My card is only just beaten by it when running the likes of QuakeIII!!.The Radeon only comes into its own at stupidly high resolutions, which my monitor wont even support!!.In fact,at lower res,my card actually beats the Radeon on several occassions!!.They reckon this is down to lame drivers on ATI`s part.So maybe it`s just as well I did`nt get it?.

ATI Radeon causes too much compatability grief. Didn't miss out.
