Just when you think you have the most up-to-date system something major changes.

It only seems like yesterday when socket 939 was released only to be replaced by AM2, which in its own right required a completed heart & lungs transplant.

Next we have Vista & DX10 just around the corner which will change everything yet again.

How often should we be looking at upgrading our system?

Having changed my system COMPLETELY twice in the space of four months I am now drawn to the conclusion that this one will have to stay precisely as it is until it breaks down. Perhaps I'll add another 7900GT to run SLI when they drop down to about £100, add a floppy/multicard reader and perhaps change the CPU when FX-64 (lol) is about £50 (lmao) because it aint fortunes spent, but I certainly aint going to change the MB till it stops running.

Anyway this is starting to sound more like a review than a forum !!!
