Hi all,
I bought an OEM D840 processor (3.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache etc..). though i thought of buying the D805 i finally decided to go with the 840.
now I want to know the performance of this processor. is it a good CPU? what are the overclocking possibilities? also suggest a good mobo for this processor (looking at the Asus P5LD2-V or VM - on a tight budget!). I want to go with the 945G chipset. so suggest any mobo better than the above two possibly with DDR2 800 support under 200$.
I am looking at the OCZ 1GB (2x512MB) DDR2 667MHz RAM http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__OCZ_Technology_1GB_PC2_5400_DDR2_DIMM_Memory_Ki t,__17411030
Its timings are 5-5-5. Is it any good and does it allow tighter latencies? and can i expect a faster clock speed (maybe 800MHz?) or suggest any other with 4-4-4 timings running at 800MHz.
Thanks
