Hello ,

I'm Ken and this is my first post , actually coming here because I have a big error inside Windows or maybe Hardware side. But I don't know what is it...

Today and yesterday and 1 time last week , I had the issue where the screen turned onto this:

I seriously don't know of what to do. I'd appreciate any help/explanation , if it rings a bell to anyone on this forum.

Thankyou ,

Grtz Ken

KenitaiWELCOME to the forums.

More details about computer would be helpful (including type of graphics card)

Have you tried checking to see it cables are connected securely?

Also check to see if the card is seated correctly. Remove it and reseat it. (Blow out any dust you see inside the case) If you have never been inside your PC before post back and some one will give proper instruction for this)

Finally for the moment, try re-installing the drivers for your card.

If in doubt about anything ask for help and some-one will give it

If you're going to open up your case, do either of these two, (the first one try first):

1) Refer to your case's manual (if it's a custom built PC), or if it is a manufacter PC, (like Dell, hp, etc.), refer to the manual that came with your PC. It could also have a mnual about Upgrading Parts or something along those lines.

OR

2) Post your case model, (custom built only), or if it is a branded PC, tell us what system, brand, and model # you have.

I'd prefer the first choice mainly for accuracy of your case, but if you cannot access your manuals/lost them, then just talk to us here. This is most definately a video problem. Have you installed new video drivers and/or upgraded to a newer version of DirectX?

My guess is an unfortunate change in the video configuration [or possibly a change to a bad video driver].

To fix the configuration you need to restore the configuration files from immediately before the bad change.
So which OS are you running?
Or do you have any image backups of C:? [It's safest to restore a known working image]
Did you make any changes to the hardware, or to the software? [Install/uninstall any programs or Windows updates, driver changes?]

To check that it's not the hardware at fault you could boot Knoppix from a free Knoppix Linux Live CD (http://www.knoppix.org/) [click on the English language version].
If this boots just fine, with a good display, then the Hardware is ok.
