Ok here we go, befor I get started running all of the Hijack and ewido proggys I have a question in general. I am seeing something different than being reported in any of the other posts, after my home page is set to the False positive site it will not go anywhere else. It starts making a clicking noise and will continue untill I hit the browser stop button.
This is seemingly going to cause problems with me getting the logs onto this website... Any suggestions out there? Has anyone seen this before?
Tonight I plan on running Hijack this and posting tommorrow so I guess Ill cya then.
thanks for your help.

I have also copied the following proggys to disk in preparation:
ATF Cleaner
Startup List
Ewido installer, and update log
Spybot installer and update log
Hijack this
Smitfraudfix
Smitfraudrem
Hopefully this is all I will need b/c I am pretty sure the cpu was fine befor the Media Codec download debachury..
thanks again

Since I will not have access to the net tonight do you think its safe to go ahead and run the smitfraudfix?

Well there is not much point in running the Smitfraud fix as you may not even have smitfraud. The best thing you could do right now is post up your HJT log before doing anything else.

Ya I pretty much knew what it was, I read up on like 30 cases of it. Only thing that bothers me is the fact that I could not run smitfraud and ewido in safe mode. If you wanna know that long story you will have to read my previous string in the windows section. Long story short the computer I am trying to fix I do not have admin rights and Windows xp prof will not let you log into safe mode with user rights. Ok I am going to run hijack this now and post it. It seems like its fixed though but I want to let you proffessionals check it out.

I agree with classicsoftware... If you don't know what this vsehqs.com site is, you need to fix those... I suspect it may be the business that uses this computer and if that is true, leave them alone... I could find any reference to it on Google and did not want to risk going there...

Gag...a Network Solutions registered domain.

Nearly impossible to find decent info from one of those. I tried going there in 'Nix, but got a 'Not found' error...but that could mean just about anything.
