usb problems

I have a 7 year old hp pavilion running win98 with just one usb port on the back of it. It use to have a scanner hooked up to it. I can't get it to recognize my flash drive. Is win 98 just too old, because I can't find drivers to make the flash drive work.

Windoze 98 needs drivers to recognize flash drives and not all flash drive manufacturers provide W98 drivers for their devices. Check their page online and download them if available, otherwise get another flash drive which is supported with drivers for 98

If you have Win98 first edition and not second edition then I would forget about getting any support for USB drives.
