Try uninstalling Acrobat, and reinstalling.

What converter program had you previously been using that created a toolbar button (plugin) for Word. Sounds like it is that which needs reinstalling: eg something like http://www.tomdownload.com/business_finance/word_processing/word_to_pdf_converter.htm since I don't think such conversion is ever native to Word.

This is only Native to WordPerfect. It's amazing nobody uses it anymore. They are up to version 14 and have had native PDF capability since version 11. You had to have a separate add on program as Paul suggested. This will be native to Word in the next release....

so are you saying that adobe 5.0 will not work with word 2002. i would have to purchase a new programme
Here is a PDF creator that sets up a virtual printer and then allows you to 'print' any document (any app) as a PDF...

The free and superb Open Office 2.0 (http://download.openoffice.org/index.html) has an export to pdf toolbar button and should do just about everything that MSoffice does.
