printer which model is best

wanted info on printer, as i need a new one
i have a HP 694C or did, ontil a couple paper page when throught the printer and i think some gears got damage, now it a very nosely and sometime not working machine and it only 600 dpi

i want something like in the area of 2880 dpi now, so any idea of what printer is good, any idea would be appreciacte

What do you use your printer for? General home use, business? These considerations will greatly influence your decision. BTW: I do not think that there is a inkjet printer available on the market with a resolution over 1600 dpi.

Another consideration is the cost of the consumables, i.e. ink jet cartridges. Some printers use a proprietary design for which you pay a premium because there are not many generic alternatives (Lexmark is a good example).
